Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief agency that has been fulfilling its commitment to end hunger for more than 15 years. In 2005, Stop Hunger Now created it’s meal packaging program that perfected the assembly process that combines rice, dal, dehydrated vegetables and a vitamin sachet including 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets. Since 2011, Stop Hunger Now has coordinated the distribution of food and other lifesaving aid to children and families throughout India.
Stop Hunger Now not only provides meals packaged by our dedicated volunteers, but facilitates large shipments of product donations such as medical supplies, water, and food. Stop Hunger Now also supports provision of health and nutrition care services in remote locations, and provides cash grants to support various projects.
Every year, Stop Hunger Now provides millions of nutritious meals and other life-saving aid to children and families all over the world. Stop Hunger Now complements existing development efforts in vulnerable communities by investing the meals our volunteers package in programs such as school feeding programs, orphanages, nurseries and medical clinics. Stop Hunger Now India partners with a number of local organizations to provide food and other life-saving aid to those in need. These partners support a variety of development programs that work with members of the community to meet their basic needs and create long-term, sustainable change. Stop Hunger Now India particularly focuses on school feeding programs because providing a hot meal during school gives parents an incentive to send their children to school. By helping a child learn better and acquire skills, Stop Hunger Now India aims to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty and hunger in a sustainable manner.
Since 2011, Stop Hunger Now has been shipping meals to nonprofit partners in India. In 2013, Stop Hunger Now was invited to organize a meal packaging event in Bangalore, packaging 75,000 meals with local corporate partners. This event, along with others throughout 2014, led to the opportunity to establish a permanent meal packaging program in Bangalore, opening its doors in March 2015. Since 2013, Indian volunteers have packaged more than 1,500,000 meals for children throughout India. Countless corporations, civic organizations, communities of faith and schools have enjoyed organizing and participating in a Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. It is an immensely fun, hands-on and rewarding experience for anyone of any age.
